AIM OF THE CONFERENCE - to bring together Lithuanian and European professionals working in museums and for museums to share their experience, insights and examples of good practice in engaging museum audience and to discuss urgent challenges for the museums in strengthening their role and impact on the social, cultural and economical development of local communities.

 


OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE

  • To encourage the cooperation among museum professionals;
  • To share the experiences and ideas about creating informative, attractive and socially inclusive museum in the XXI c.
  • To discuss urgent problems, main challenges and necessary changes allowing to fulfill museums’ missions;- To discover new forms and ways of meeting new audience demands and making museums socially important;

 

The international conference „Museums in the XXI c. – Changes and Challenges“ covers, but is not limited to the following areas:

  • Museums in the global world
    • changing role of museum in the society;
    • participatory museum;
    • research of museum audience (new insights and future tendencies);
    • pulling in target audiences (new ways and forms);
    • museums as the storages of culture values;
  • Museums and Network
    • social media – global uproar and museums;
    • museum networks;
    • ormal and informal museum organizations;
