The Best in Heritage is the world’s only annual survey of award-winning museum, heritage and conservation projects. Organised under special patronage of International Council of Museums and in partnership with Europa Nostra, it is supported by The City of Dubrovnik and Croatian Ministry of Culture.

The 13th edition of the meeting will host the pre-conference event “Dialogue Day” on September 25th, in collaboration with eCultValue project & European Museum Forum (EMF), and the Global Heritage Forum, as local host of the event organised by association of International National Trusts Organisation (INTO) & Europa Nostra. The main programme starts on the evening of 25th in the neo-baroque theatre “Marin Držić”, with the Opening ceremony and the Keynote address by Professor Gael de Guichen, world-wide renowned expert on conservation. Presentations of the award-winners follow on 26th and 27th, with projects from China, United States, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Canada, Russia and the European Union taking the stage. Each presentation is closed by a short Q&A segment, and each session of six presentations with a moderated discussion with participation of the audience.

In addition to inspiring array of best practices, the programme features rich social and cultural content organised with help of Dubrovnik Museums, all taking place in the Renaissance city core of Dubrovnik, UNESCO’s World heritage site. All conference venues, such as Sponza and Rector’s Palaces, provide truly remarkable atmospheres in history-rich context which all heritage lovers will surely enjoy. The gathering is ideal for networking, establishing personal contacts, discussing potential collaborations and getting inspired by the finest accomplishments of top rank professionals.
