Engaging Spaces: Interpretation, Design and Digital Strategies

The NODEM 2014 Conference, dedicated to the exploration of the theme “Engaging SpacesInterpretation, Design and Digital Strategies”will take place in Warsaw, on December 1-3, 2014, in the occasion of the NODEM EXPO.

The aim of the conference is to bring together museum and heritage professionals (galleries, archives, libraries and museums), innovation experts (universities, research and technology transfer centres, start-ups) and creative industries to enable discussion on the potential of dialogue and collaboration between architecture, experience design, strategies of interpretation and ICT.

 

The organising committee invites submissions in five categories:

-  Academic Research or Project Presentations
-  Non-Academic Research or Project Presentations
-  Non-Commercial Demonstrations
-  Posters
-  Commercial Demonstrations

Proposals should include paper title and short abstract (maximum of 300 words), and should focus on the following themes:

- (Re)creating Spaces of Engaging Experience in Museums and Heritage Sites
- Digital Curating on Interpretation, Learning and Collaboration
- Experience Design Inside/Outside Museums
- Social Media for Creative Expression, Communication and Content
- Strategies in Digital HeritageCompetence Centres, Collaboration, Participation in Museum InnovationPolicies
- Digital SupportArchiving, Documenting, Preservation, Visualization, Recreating Tangible and Intangible Heritage
- Virtual Museums

Abstracts must be submitted by the 30th of April, 2014.

Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to present their work in the thematic sessions of the conference or in the NODEM EXPO. Accepted abstracts will be preserved in the NODEM Digital Repository (http://repo.nodem.org/), and selected full papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings.
