Knowing Our Past, Shaping Our Future: What’s Next for Visitor Studies?
Raleigh, North Carolina |
The Visitor Studies Association (VSA) seeks to foster a sense of community among its members, who gather once a year to pose intriguing questions, explore diverse opinions, debate controversial issues, challenge assumptions and share their successes and their struggles—in essence, to learn from one another.
In 2012, VSA celebrates 25 years of studying the visitor experience and informal learning supported by cultural leaders, designers, funders, and policy-makers. VSA feels this is a great opportunity to discuss how visitor studies can help envision and shape the role of museums within our increasingly diverse and complex societies.
Workshops will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, July 24 and 25. The conference will kick off Wednesday, July 25 night.
