Titanic and Emigration

8-10 November 2012

Cherbourg, France | La Cité de la Mer

A new permanent exhibition dedicated to the Titanic and the theme of emigration was officially opened at La Cité de La Mer last April 10, exactly 100 years after the Titanic’s legendary stopover in Cherbourg.
Since then, more than 140,000 people have visited the exhibition, the result of the work of La Cité de la Mer in cooperation with a group of international institutions dedicated to emigration, maritime museums and members of the Titanic Cities network (Belfast, Liverpool, Southampton, Cobh).

The representatives of all these institutions will meet on 8-10 November for a special three-day meeting, co-organized by the Cherbourg Urban Community and La Cité de la Mer.

The conference will be an opportunity not just to discover the new exhibition but also to exchange about the international migration heritage.

The registration form must be filled in and sent back before 8 October.

The two languages used for the meeting are English and French, with conference interpreters. For further information, please contactCherbourg2012@citedelamer.com
