Iain Chambers is Professor of “Cultural and Postcolonial Studies” at the University of Naples “L’Orientale,” where he is Director of the Centre for Postcolonial Studies, and previously coordinated the PhD programme in “Cultural and Postcolonial Studies of the Anglophone World.”

He was a member of the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies at the University of Birmingham, and he is particularly known for his interdisciplinary and intercultural work on music, popular and metropolitan cultures. More recently he has extended his work on interdisciplinary and intercultural analyses to the formation of the modern Mediterranean.

He is leader of the MeLa* RF02 “Cultural Memory, Migrating Modernities and Museum Practices.”
